SecretAgent990 comes out of Panoramic Strategy, a consulting firm that has spent more than fifteen years inside the finances of nonprofits: hundreds of them. We serve as CFOs and accountants. We build budgets, close books, sit with boards, steer mergers, and untangle grant compliance. Nonprofits are not a vertical we picked. They are all we work with.

Do that work long enough and you notice something maddening. The answers everyone wants, who funds organizations like ours, what should we ask for, which funders are open to someone new, are sitting in public filings. Millions of them. Nobody has time to read them.

We watched smart development directors run on guesswork and secondhand lists. We watched boards ask reasonable questions that took a week of digging to answer. The record was public the whole time. It just was not readable at the speed a working nonprofit needs.

So we built the reader.
